Where is the Diamond Beach located?
Diamond Beach, or Fellsfjara, is located just off Route 1, the Ring Road, on the southeastern coast of Iceland. It is a unique and stunning black sand beach in Iceland strewn with chunks of ice (diamonds!) and a hugely popular destination for travelers.
The location of Diamond Beach is 379 kilometers (about 235 miles) southeast of Reykjavik, 191 kilometers (about 119 miles) northeast of Vík í Mýrdal (the town of Vik), and 78.6 kilometers (about 49 miles) west of the town of Höfn.
The coordinates of Diamond Beach are 64°02’38.0″N 16°10’55.9″W. There is also a parking lot and viewing area on the west side of the outflow from Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon. The coordinates for this viewpoint are 64°02’39.5″N 16°10’39.7″W.
From the parking lot, it is a short walk to the beach.
